Dertour Group, a leading travel management company, is making a strategic move in Switzerland. In a recent announcement, the group revealed its plan to consolidate its travel management brands, with a focus on integrating Kuoni Business Travel into the existing structure. This move is part of a broader strategy to streamline operations and enhance the customer experience.
The decision comes as a result of Dertour's recent acquisition of Hotelplan Group, a Swiss travel provider. This acquisition brought two new Travel Management Companies (TMCs) into the Dertour Group's portfolio: Finass Reisen and bta first travel. Finass Reisen specializes in corporate travel and events, while bta first travel caters to the SME sector. With these additions, Dertour Group now has a stronger presence in the Swiss travel management market.
According to a Dertour spokesperson, Kuoni Business Travel, with its offices in Zurich, Geneva, Lugano, and Uzwil, will be seamlessly integrated into bta first travel. This integration is set to take effect in January 2026, marking a significant milestone in the group's organizational restructuring. The spokesperson assured that this merger will not result in any job cuts, and clients will continue to benefit from the combined expertise of both brands under the unified name bta first travel.
The CEO of bta first travel, Roland Birchmeier, emphasized the shared focus on customer service, tailored solutions, and local presence between Kuoni Business Travel and bta first travel. He stated that this integration will enable the group to better understand and meet the specific needs of their business customers, providing them with added value. Finass Reisen, on the other hand, will maintain its independent brand and operations, allowing it to continue serving its clients as it has always done.
