Corriedale: 13 New Characters in Massive Trailer! Coronation Street x Emmerdale Crossover (2026)

Get ready for a thrilling crossover event that will shake up the small screen! Corriedale, the highly anticipated collaboration between Coronation Street and Emmerdale, is almost here, and it's bringing a whole lot of drama and intrigue.

With just a few weeks left until the premiere, we're excited to share some exclusive details about the new characters joining this epic crossover. But here's where it gets controversial... some fans might be divided on whether these characters will add to the story or take away from it.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that David Platt and Tracy Barlow from Coronation Street would be joined by Liam Cavanagh from Emmerdale. This trio follows the previously announced Lisa Swain and Aaron Dingle, creating an intriguing mix of personalities. And now, a brand new trailer has unveiled even more figures who will be part of this dramatic tale.

From Weatherfield, we have Kit Green, James Bailey, Asha Alahan, Carla Connor, Kevin Webster, Abi Webster, and Shona Platt making their way to the crossover. On the Emmerdale side, we're expecting to see Cain Dingle, Sarah Sugden, Charity Dingle, Jacob Gallagher, Robert Sugden, and Joe Tate. The question remains: how will these characters intersect and what roles will they play in the unfolding events?

The drama centers around a multi-vehicle pile-up, as seen in the newest trailer, where Kit attempts to take charge while Carla tries to keep someone calm. Following the accident, paramedic Jacob tends to David and Shona, while medical worker Asha works alongside Cain to assess any further injuries.

Shona and Charity later come together at Hotten General Hospital, while Kevin and Abi search for someone at the crash site. Robert and Joe are also on the lookout, this time for Aaron. The hour-long special, described as a celebration of the genre, will air on ITV1 at 8 pm on Monday, January 5th. But here's the catch: it won't be available for early streaming on ITVX or YouTube, unlike regular episodes of the ITV soaps.

The logline for Corriedale teases, "It's just the start of the drama as the aftermath of the crash gives rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely guarded secrets, and lies. Life in Emmerdale and Weatherfield will never be the same again!"

Corriedale is set to air at 8 pm on ITV1 on January 5th. Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8 pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX. Emmerdale can be caught on weeknights at 7:30 pm on ITV1, also streaming on ITVX.

So, what do you think? Will this crossover live up to the hype, or will it fall flat? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments! Are you excited for Corriedale, or do you prefer to stick to the original shows? Let's discuss!
